Bluetooth Firmware Update

You can download the latest updates to your Bluetooth Alpine device.


The update improves the following points:

  • The Head Units compatibility will be improved from AVRCP1.3 to AVRCP1.4
  • Compatibility with new mobile phones.
  • iOS6 Bluetooth Audio - displaying the tag information on the Head Unit
  • iOS6 Bluetooth Audio - ability to control the iPhone‘s music player from the Head Unit
  • Improved BT audio streaming function and stable pairing function for iPhone using iOS 6 or higher.

1. Compatibility Charts

If you are able to pair your mobile phone without any problems, there is no need to update the software.

We recommend that you check the Bluetooth firmware version on your Alpine product and compare the mobile phones listed in the Compatibility Chart.

How to update your Alpine device Firmware

1. Download Bluetooth Firmware Update File to PC with built-in Bluetooth or a Bluetooth dongle OR to Android phone with "Bluetooth File Transfer" APP from Google Play Store.

2. Park and turn the engine off. Keep the ACC key position.

3. Set Bluetooth communication with PC and confirm current software version of Alpine device.

4. Update your Bluetooth Firmware.


  • The update software varies by model. Confirm the software before updating.
  • Updating requires a computer with built-in Bluetooth or a Bluetooth dongle OR Android phone with "Bluetooth File Transfer" APP from Google Play Store
  • Do not update Bluetooth software while driving.
  • Do not turn off the vehicle’s ACC or Head Unit power while updating. The update will not be performed correctly and the product may become unusable.
  • Updating results in all user information being deleted: user settings, paired phones, and phonebook contacts.


Windows 7

  • A Windows 7 computer with Bluetooth connectivity. This includes built-in Bluetooth adapters or external USB Bluetooth adapters.
  • The Bluetooth adapter must support File Transfer Profile (FTP).
  • The Bluetooth firmware update file (Alpine provided).
  • An internet connection during pairing process (automatic driver download)
